Leh: Leh is the heart of Leh district and capital of Ladakh. Leh has been set amongst dramatic surroundings: in a fertile side valley of the Indus River and ringed by high mountains of Stok and Ladakh, Karakoram Ranges. The city skyline is dominated by the Palace and Fort on Namgyal and Tsemo Hill.

Above the Palace, on the top of the Namgyal Tsemo Hill, stands the ancient Leh Fort.

 

Day 01: Arrive Leh

Arrive Leh, transfer to Hotel. Day is at rest for acclimatization. Evening, walk around the Leh Bazar. Overnight at Hotel. (3500m)

 

Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour Thiksey – Hemis – Stok Palace

After breakfast, drive with packed Lunch to visit Stok Royal Palace. After that drive towards Hemis the biggest and richest monastery. On way back visit Thiksey monastery and Shey Palace. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

 

Day 03: Drive Leh - Hall of Fame - Gurudwara - Magnetic Hill - Sangam - Alchi - Ulleytokpo (78 kms)

Post breakfast, you drive on Leh - Srinagar highway to Ulleytokpo. En-route visit Hall of Fame (Kargil war hero Museum), Pathar Sahib (Gurudwara) and Alchi Monastery. Halt for few minutes to enjoy the view of Sangam (confluence of Indus and Zanskar River) and Magnetic Hill. Arrive Alchi village then visit the oldest and famous monastery founded by Lama Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo 1000 years ago. After the visit drive further 7 km ahead to Ulleytokpo. Overnight stay at Ulley Resort. (3040m)

 

Day 04: Drive Ulleytokpo - Lamayuru - Leh (166 kms)

After breakfast drive with packed Lunch, along the highway towards Lamayuru. Today you enjoy the spectacular view of broken land of moon - Lamayuru village. Arrive Lamayuru, visit the picturesque monastery built on hill top with awesome view of village and surrounding mountains, by Arahat Nimagung. Later drive back to Leh. Arrive Leh by afternoon. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

 

Day 05: Drive Leh – Nubra Valley - Camel Safari (120 kms)

Morning after breakfast, drive to Nubra, 120 kms (one way) from Leh and it takes about 4-5 hrs drive, by crossing Khardung-la (The highest motor able road in the world 5602 m). On the way, you have amazing panoramic view of Indus valley, Shayok River, Himalayan Mountains and Karakoram Mountains range. Explore the Nubra valley (The valley of flowers). Arrive Hunder where you enjoy the Double humped bacterian camel riding (Optional). After that continue driving to Deskit (administrative block of Nubra valley) and visit the monastery. This picturesque monastery built on hill top overlooking the valley. Enjoy magnificent and awesome view of valley and mountains of Karakoram Range. The most attractive features of Nubra valley is the sand dune. Overnight at Hotel/ Fixed Camp. (3165m)

 

Day 06: Drive Nubra – Leh (120 km)

Morning after breakfast, drive back to Leh via khardungla. Arrive Leh by late afternoon. Post Lunch, free to explore Leh market. Overnight at Hotel. (3500m).

 

Day 07: Drive Leh – Pangong Lake – Leh (170 km one way)

Early morning drive to Pangong Lake 170 kms (one way) from Leh. Today you cross Chang-la (The world’s third highest motorable road in the world 5360 m). On the way, enjoy view of beautiful mountains, animals like Yaks and colonies marmots, nomads and Chanthang valley. Arrive at Lake, the Lake is 136 kms long and 5 kms wide, 47% of this lake is in India territory and rest is in Tibet. The view of lake is spectacular and breathtaking. Spend few hours there while overwhelming, captivating the beauty of nature and later on drive back to Leh. Overnight at Hotel in Leh. (3500m)

 

Day 08: Flight Leh – Delhi

After breakfast, transfer to Airport to catch flight for Delhi.
